Xuan Wing Chun - Dummy Lecture-2
Просмотров 511Месяц назад
This is the second lecture on the upcoming online Dummy course. It explains how the Dummy form is designed. My Grandmaster Moy Yat broke it down to 108 movements/postures. I've further broke it down to 12 postures per section for the first 7 sections, and 24 postures in the 8th section, making it 108 in total. What are the 12 postures for each section, what they teach, and how they can be appli...

Highly valued information … thank you.
I hope you can make use of the information. Lots more to be found in my online course at www.wingchunrevelation.com as well as my book The Tao of Wing Chun.
World class Wing Chun right here!
Where are you filming from? Is this in Colombia?
Yes
Master! You are already in Colombia. Everything looks fine.👍👍👍
Yes, I am.
Bing! I just realized that it is you. Yes, I've moved here. Once I'm settled here in half a year or so, come visit me!
This truth can NOT be denied by anyone using logical thinking 🤔
This is not just another martial arts video this is truly excellent 👍😮 great stuff truth science wisdom 👏
Always strait to the Point Sifu Thanks for explaining and expanding on the important points
Come visit me in Colombia!
pointing in the right direction will save you valuable time, thnx Sifu!
Thank you for sharing your thoughts and knowledge.
Good simple principles. Thanks for sharing.
I like the way you explain it , especially the push-up part, it does make sense. Thank you … keep it up.
Keep it up? A bit more respect dude. 😂
in feudalism they used bottem nuckels as well and they were also bare nuckle
Ciao Aldo, nice to hear from you. When we last met, you mentioned about a slight angle of the fist, with the ulna turned medially, as a more comfortable fist, rather than a full vertical fist. I've experimented it since, and I agree with you that a slight medially turned fist is a better alignment. In Part-2 of the Vlog, I will expand more on the fist and knuckles. I also want to mention that I do draw information from my students as well, and you are one of them.
By the way, I miss you, I miss your family, and I miss Italy. Italy is my favorite country for living, for the people, for the culture, and for the food. However, it is rather expensive to retire there on just the pension income. This is why I'm in Colombia. I do love it here for the same reasons, but it is not as sophisticated as Italy, but definitely less expensive to live. I have made some very good friends here, and will definitely enjoy my stay. I hope to come visit you again. On the other hand, you and your family are most welcome to visit me here. I'm living in the countryside that's really beautiful. I will get an apartment in Medellin once I get some extra income. Hope to see you here.
Ti abbraccio.
thanks will rewach it later
Wing Chun is such a deep art
That’s why there is so much misunderstanding about it, and why most people suck at it.
wow! the movement that has to be at least 200lbs probably closer to 300lbs
I've got students who weigh 40 kg more than me, and they just manage to move the dummy 1/4 to 1/2 the distance as mine.
Ciao Sifu. Sempre giovane.
I miss you, my friend, Aldo. Espero te conocir pronto!
Fantastic lecture, Shifu!
Thank you, Reinald. On the other hand, there will always be someone who doesn't appreciate it and bash my lessons.
Hi Sifu! I hope you are well. I am a student of Sifu Chan Kam Shing (Chris Chan), and am getting back into my Wing Chun. My Sifu is old and I cannot find previous videos of his Siu Nim Tao, Chum Kiu, Biu Gee etc. If you are able to, it would be amazing to have videos for the other forms. Thank you for continuing to preserve the martial art! Rafael
Hi Rafael: I have met Sifu Chris Chan when I was living in San Francisco for a year in 1992. Although we both are from Ip Man's lineage, we have different perspectives on Wing Chun. You'll always find that in the Wing Chun family. Unlike the Japanese arts and some Chinese ones too, which are very disciplined, regimented, traditional, and formal, Wing Chun is very free-thinking. It was designed to allow customization for individuals; consequently, you'll have different perspectives. If you are interested in learning the forms you mentioned, I have then as online course at www.wingchunrevelation.com. The lessons are very detailed so you can understand Wing Chun not only physically, but academically. Take a look at the site, and see if it interests you. Good luck!
@@wingchunshifu Thank you so much Sifu! I'm glad you met him and I would be interested in speaking with you about some of the syncretic differences/similarities between our systems. I just finished reading your book this past week and found your RUclips to listen to your lectures, and I will definitely check out your website. Thank you for your reply!
From South Africa with love, this is my favorite teacher because he is scientific and really cares about explaining concepts to us. I love you Xuan Yin Sheng!
Thank you, Bro. Love you too. Hope to meet up someday.
OUTSTANDING ; o ....
I'm glad you liked it.
Wonderful explanation!
Thank you for your kind words.
I am interested in this course
The lessons have been done; however, it will need some editing. As you may have seen, this video was recorded last summer. I'm currently in the process of moving to S. America, so am busy with the logistics. Once I get some free time, I will put the lessons together for the subscription. Just stay tuned to this channel for information.
There are several lineages within the Ip Man lineage. Did he learn from Ip Man himself or which of his students did he learn from? I suppose it isn't as important but considering that most of Wing Chun practitioners trace their lineage back to Ip Man, since he was able to share it to more international students, it sort of is hard to say that a person is part of the Ip Man lineage (unless he learned from him directly) due to the Ip Man lineage also being varied depending on the student
Really good.
Many years ago I trained in Oxford, England with a guy called Nino, but I haven't been able to track him down. He was from HK and came from quite a pedigree. Does the name ring a bell?
Yes, his last name is Bernado. I'm not sure where he is now, but you can google his full name.
Thank You Shifu. I just learnt from you the material composition as well as other key objectives around the ren jong (I look forward to learning it once I'm ready). Thank you baba
3 dummies! 🤣😂
That's not power. And you need to secure the frame that holds your dummy. Following it around like this destroys your form.
Why are the top arms put in with opposite heights from most other dummies that I've seen? The right arm is lower than the left which is opposite from what I've always seen before.
The information will be revealed in the upcoming Dummy online course. Keep an eye on it.
im not trying to hate, but is this supposed to be self defence or some performance art?
Where are you based sifu?
I'm currently in Canada, 100 km northeast of Toronto. However, I'm moving to S. America in a few months. Where do you live?
i would call that intellectual masturbation, no one actually does know how to fight
look, this Art doesnt work with or without rules. Lets not pretend or lie to ourselves OK?...go do dancing or something. It is merely intellectual entertainment.
Fellas, this guy is teaching weak form. punches are half punching. terrible form.
Your punching during the form is completely ineffective. Has no form on centerline or power. You are bringing our fist up half way then pushing forward. Needs to be on motion for any power behind it.
A LARPer critiquing a LARPER .. hilarious! 😂😂🤣 Please post videos of you guys using this in real encounters.
@@SS-gu2tx Says the expert watching and commenting on LARPers in his spare time. lmao.
@@c1arkj Yep! I've got two pro's and countless amateur fights. The algorithm has truly blessed me. Thank you!
@@SS-gu2tx Thank goodness you came in here to gloat otherwise we never would have heard of you. lmao.
@@c1arkj You're welcome, by the way I take it you're a LARP'er too? I love seeing this. It's like watching people argue about fake WWE wrestling XD
Wing chun is weak in it's pure form. It needs modified for real life fighting.
This is awesome film. But why 6 minutes?Too long man.
Too much talk no application
No freebie, Buddy. You have to pay to learn.
It's an introduction, dummy.
Great exercises and hip training!
This is some great information!
Dummies don't fight back, but Xu Xiaodong does. 🤣🤣🤣.
Yes... BUT to fight Xu Xiaodong, YOU need to practices hard !!! Anyhow, I must admitted, Wing Chun has its weakness.
Yeah, Bags don't fight back either, but Xu Xiaodong trains on them.
The problem with you people assume xu xia dong challenge real kung fu martial art master to a fight is as delusional as the delusional fake wing chun master that xu Xiao dong fought.
Awesome.... wow, i need to build....
OUTSTANDING : o ......
I seen a lightning bolt it was twice that .
That's what it'll take for one to see the light!
Merci beaucoup pour ce vidéo, c’est très utile car je suis en train de chercher les matériaux pour fabriquer un mannequin pour moi-même.🤗🙏🏻
You are very welcome. Although I did not reveal all the information, which I left for the online course that will be release some months later, I've given enough information for anyone with a thinking mind to figure it out. Best of luck!
I'm proud to have seen Xuan Shifu's book, the Tao of Wing Chun. The principles I learned from his thorough explanations have helped me develop a way to train without much communal help. You're an inspiration
I’m very happy to see me again, Sifu
I learned a lot myself teaching you. Hope to meet again soon!
That's some real power there.. that wood is heavy!
He took longer bowing than doing his little form
